After-work event at the Technisches Museum Wien

A journey back in time to the wild 90s
Teenagers & Adults
Event
On 26 September 2024, the Technisches Museum Wien (Vienna Museum of Science and Technology) will open its doors for an extraordinary journey back in time to the 90s – an era in which Vienna and the Technisches Museum Wien were known as a vibrant hotspot of the club and rave scene. For one evening, the museum is transformed into a living homage to 90s club culture. Neon lights, iconic sounds and an incomparable atmosphere will create an experience reminiscent of the glory days of Viennese nightlife.

Radio Wien DJ Alex List will be at the turntables to bring the unforgettable beats of the 90s to life. From techno and house to the biggest dance floor anthems, the music of this era will be presented in a unique museum setting. An opportunity that won't come around again: the after-work event is a one-off occasion. This is made possible by the open spaces that are only temporarily available as part of the preparations for the new Material Worlds department (opening 2025). The event is themed around the upcoming special exhibition 100 Years of Radio. As Austria went on air. It will shed light on the historical significance of radio for the country and establish an exciting link to the music and club culture of the 1990s, which was significantly shaped by radio.
