What role does gender play in science and technology? The Women's Gallery is dedicated to a history of technology that has been largely shaped by women: they have always been researching, developing and inventing. The exhibition tour is structured around biographies that guide visitors along 14 stations spread throughout the building.

  • The key aspects of the Women's Gallery are presented as part of the guided tour Ingenious Women.
  • In addition to the Women's Gallery, the museum series has published a book entitled “Wäre Ada ein Mann … Frauen in Technik, Naturwissenschaften und Medien” (“If Ada were a man ... women in technology, natural sciences and the media”), which is available in the museum shop and online.
  • Blätter für Technikgeschichte – Gender & Technik (Papers on the history of technology – gender & technology)
  • 100 years ago, women were first allowed to study at technical universities in Austria. The volume takes this as an opportunity to discuss current research approaches to gender and technology. The articles examine historical constructs of gender roles and technology and ask about the role of gender in technical training and teaching today. Available in the museum shop and online.

Since 2016, the museum has been highlighting the achievements of these women. An expanded section of the Women's Gallery introduced in autumn 2019 has been dedicated to exploring questions of work, education and training from a gender perspective.
