Waves that connect

“Ladies and gentlemen who are present and who are not”, Albert Einstein greeted the audience in his speech at the 7th German Radio and Audio Show in 1930. These words alluded to the fact that while not all listeners were physically present, they could still hear his voice over the radio from distant locations.

Workshop
The discovery of electromagnetic radiation, which includes radio waves, has led to countless inventions. These invisible waves have revolutionised our world and enable us to communicate over great distances.

In our workshop, we track down these invisible waves that influence so many aspects of our lives. We experiment with simple, homemade devices to receive radio waves and make them both visible and audible. At the same time, we take a look at different frequency spectra and – like the listeners of Einstein's speech once did – we remotely tune into the radio waves that constantly surround and pass through us without our awareness.
