Students from the 6th and 7th grades of GRG12 Rosasgasse visited the "SPACE" exhibition at the Technical Museum Vienna as part of the elective module "Interdisciplinary Information Technology (FIT)." In addition to gaining insights into developments in space exploration, they also learned about the activities of the youth initiative MISSION CONTROL.
After exploring highlights from the past, such as the spacesuit worn by Franz Viehböck, the first Austrian in space, whose stay on the MIR space station propelled Austria’s space activities in the 1990s, they also discussed current projects and Austria's contributions to today's space exploration – as well as school and student activities as a "launch into the future."Students from the 6th and 7th grades of GRG12 Rosasgasse visited the "SPACE" exhibition at the Technical Museum Vienna as part of the elective module "Interdisciplinary Information Technology (FIT)." During the presentation of MISSION CONTROL, the question arose: which food would the students take into space? Döner won, though there was some debate as to whether Dürüm might be better suited for weightlessness. Hands-on activities, like steering a rover or target shooting with straw rockets, were included alongside quizzes and assessments of fun facts and trivia. After a good two hours, the group left the museum – perhaps as future space pioneers or members of MISSION CONTROL?
